 What you would do:

The Junior Accountant is responsible to assist with general bookkeeping and financial reporting.  As well, this position will assist with personal, estate and corporate tax services.  This will be done under the supervision of an Intermediate/Senior Accountant, for review by the partners, in accordance with CPA and firm standards.

 MAJOR TASKS & DUTIES:

Roll forward accounting files from last year

Set up financial statements and enter opening balances

Follow established time budgets 

Assist in preparation of government remittances – including GST, PST, PD7A & WCB;

Prepare correspondence and working papers for Canada Revenue Agency reviews and audits.

Prepare year end financial statements and related working papers for compilations

Assist with the preparation of Corporate and Personal income tax returns; Trust, Not for Profit, and other information returns and schedules

Provide bookkeeping services to clients

Assist with investment reporting

Print and collate financial statements and tax returns

Manage client expectations with regular communication at each stage of file preparation.

And other duties as assigned.

 Requirements:

            A Bachelor’s degree in business or an equivalent of a Bachelor’s degree and a transition diploma program in Accounting.  Eligible to enroll as a student in the Chartered Professional Accountants PREP or PEP streams.
